The Coronavirus has everyone concerned as all sectors plan for how best to respond in light of continuing updates and response recommendations. 

There are many trusted sources for general information, but The Chronicals of Philanthropy has published a collection of articles on how nonprofits can respond to the Coronavirus outbreak and a special report as well. TechSoup taped its free “COVID-19 Webinar “ providing a crash course in all of the nonprofit specific training courses that have been developed by TechSoup and Microsoft to help nonprofits get the most out of the tools they already have. Additionally, starting immediately, GoToMeeting will be offering critical front-line service providers with free, organization-wide use of many LogMeIn products for 3 months through the availability of Emergency Remote Work Kits. They have also posted a blog 8 Tricks for First-Time Remote Workers. 

Zonta Club Cincinnati will award four $500 grants. Applying organizations/projects must be aligned with the mission, goals and strategies of Zonta International and the ZCC which relates to women and children’s health, education and advocacy. Congratulations to the winners of OneSource Center prizes at the recent “Securing the Future” event!  Winners included individuals from People Working Cooperatively, CAIN, St. Vincent de Paul and Journey to Hope!  

Get the “Tech Training Your Nonprofit Has Been Asking for (and That You’ll Actually Want to Take)” on Tue, Mar 17, 2020 2 pm EST. A recent survey conducted by Microsoft found that more than 60 percent of nonprofit respondents desired more IT training. This webinar will provide a crash course in all of the nonprofit-specific training courses that have been developed by TechSoup and Microsoft to help nonprofit learners get the most out of the tools they already have. Courses in Techsoup’s Digital Skills Center range from introductory courses in Excel to advanced courses in Power BI and are packed with use cases and cover popular applications like Word, PowerPoint, Teams, Power BI, and PowerApps. The courses focus on “microlearning,” in which learning objectives are delivered in bite-size portions that are instructionally more effective. The format also allows courses to double as on-the-job support materials.

The world is growing increasingly diverse as communication, social media and life experiences increase our exposure to varied backgrounds, belief structures and points of view. How do we prepare ourselves, our clients and our constituents to face the realities of a world that is becoming increasingly multi-faceted? Back by popular demand, this session will help attendees create a positive environment in their nonprofits through developing clear definitions of diversity and inclusion. By session end, attendees will be able to identify the work that needs to be done in their own organization to understand and recognize how unconscious bias and other behaviors create barriers for an inclusive environment.
