Input Requested for Region’s 2050 Transportation Plan

Public transportation is a key issue to job placement and accessibility for many of the people served through nonprofit services. What transportation needs and issues are most important to you and your constituents? Take a short survey to give input on the future of our region’s transportation. The OKI 2050 Metropolitan Transportation Plan will guide regional transportation improvements through the year 2050 by defining the policies, programs and projects that will be implemented over the next 30 years.

Training Survey Results Direct Offerings

Thank you to all who participated in the survey last year to give input into your training needs. Thank you also to The Greater Cincinnati Foundation for their financial support in conducting this research and to Calo Research Services for designing and reporting the findings. Survey results were used in developing the OneSource Center 2020 “Building Blocks for Nonprofits” workshop schedule and also in incorporating enhancements to the EXCEL and ADVANCE curriculum in our partnership in NLIGC.

Survey Result Highlights:

  • There were 371 completed surveys;
  • 49% of respondents were Executive Directors;
  • Median budget was $2.5 million.
  • Primary reasons for external training: staff development (55%) and operational improvement (36%)
  • Two factors that were clearly more important than all others in the decision to purchase external training were the cost of the training (47%) and the reputation of the training provider (31%).
  • Trainings most likely to attend: Fund Raising/Development, Outcomes & Impact Mgmt. and Leadership Best Practices. Next most likely to attend: Supervisory Skills Development, Strategic Planning, Team Building.
  • Size of agency/budget makes a difference:
  • Those in the smaller organizations attributed higher value to training that would help them acquire and manage money (e.g., fund raising, marketing plan development, branding and marketing, annual budgeting);
  • Those in the larger organizations attributed greater value to managing the organization and its people (e.g., supervisory skills development, team building, performance management).

In addition to the feedback on training needs, there was an initial question on awareness of over 15 agencies serving the nonprofit community. We were gratified to learn that one year after rebranding, 56% of the respondents were aware of OneSource Center for
Nonprofit Excellence!

Again, we appreciate this feedback. If you have additional input to offer regarding our training offerings, please contact us.
