Tailor-made Strategic Planning for Region’s Nonprofits

Strategic planning is the cornerstone of success for any agency – providing the framework for service initiatives and guiding financial outlays and future direction. It’s important to look at where you are now, where you want to go, and then make a plan to get there.

The strategic planning process isn’t a “one size fits all” scenario. Some agencies have already established solid foundational tenets, and simply need a refresh of future direction. Some just need help interviewing stakeholders to measure the effectiveness of prior planning. Some may want to use an Appreciative Inquiry approach. Some are new nonprofits, and don’t know where to start with a strategic planning process.

There are options depending on what best meets your needs! OneSource Center has recently developed a modular process that can easily be adapted to each agency’s needs. From using a traditional model and full plan to reviewing prior work done and what pieces meet your current needs, we tailor a plan for each agency.

Shoppers Club Win-Win for Nonprofits Looking to Stretch Budgets

The OneSource Center Shoppers Club warehouse redistribution center continues to explore ways to stretch agency’s budgets, and is moving to annualized billing in 2022 to streamline this process on our end. Members will be receiving their annual invoice shortly.  The annual fee schedule has been modified slightly to support operational expenses associated with offering such deep discounts and incredible donated offerings to the nonprofit community.

Most nonprofits are amazed at the great selection of furniture and merchandise and the low prices which help stretch operations budgets.  Many agencies recoup the incredibly low membership fee in their first visit. It’s a win-win for agencies and for corporations who donate to help those in need.  Learn more about the Shoppers Club, see a video tour and find our annual membership form here.

Common Good Voucher Program

OneSource Center is committed to supporting nonprofit organizations delivering on their missions to meet the needs of our community. Our Common Good Voucher Program is designed to support agencies that provide essential household and personal items to individuals in need through their programs.

The 2021-2022 Common Good Voucher Program will allow OneSource Center to provide vouchers to participating OneSource Center member organizations that are redeemable by your clients while shopping in our Common Good Warehouse. Through grant funding we are able to provide these vouchers at no cost to the participating agencies. The agencies will determine which clients receive the vouchers based on their assessment of the client’s needs. The agency should be prepared to have an agency representative accompany clients to the OneSource Center Common Good Warehouse.

Target population is agency clientele who are low-income and in need of household goods. While we will distribute vouchers in $25 increments, the partner agency decides the total amount received by the voucher recipient. Each voucher is for a one-time visit; no credit will be issued for unused value. Merchandise received can include furniture, personal care products, kitchen equipment, household linens, toys for kids, etc.

Another way we can help is to offer you the opportunity to purchase vouchers from OneSource Center to give to your clients. We have one agency that we work with this way and it is a win/win for us and them. They would in most cases be providing gift cards to be used at local retailers. By providing them with vouchers from OneSource Center, their clients are able to get as much as three times the product to use as they need.

We focus on agencies that provide their clients with personal choice shopping. To apply for vouchers please complete the application and return to byantek@onesourcectr.org.

Funding for the Common Good Voucher Program is provided through grants from the Elsa Heisel Sule Foundation, Lutheran Church of the Resurrection and the John A Schroth Family Charitable Trust at PNC Charitable Trust.
