Professional Development and Training

OneSource Center offers a variety of training and leadership development opportunities. Our programs are designed to help promote excellence in nonprofit organizations through capacity-building workshops, three levels of leadership development training, and custom training programs. Staff development is an important element in helping a nonprofit fulfill its mission by making each team member more efficient and effective. OneSource Center’s seminars are a great way to learn the specialized skills every nonprofit needs.

Being Present: Practicing Mindfulness in the Workplace
Date: Thursday, June 6;  9:00 – 10:30am; in-person 
OneSource Center Offices, 936 Dalton Ave, Cincinnati, 45203

In this interactive 90-Minute overview, discover the benefits of practicing mindfulness in the workplace. Mindfulness has scientific support as a means to: reduce stress, improve attention and productivity, decrease emotional reactivity and promote a general sense of health and well-being. This training will include opportunities to practice mindful skills with an emphasis on breath awareness, mind-body connections, communication skills and showing compassion for self and others. 

Presenter: Arlene Herman, a certified mindfulness and meditation teacher.
Fee: This is open to for current 2024 OneSource members only. Class size is limited to 10 participants. Check membership status here.

Stumbling Towards Inclusion: Finding Grace in Imperfect Leadership
Date: Thursday, May 16;  Noon – 1:00pm; online

In this session, Priya Nalkur, Ed.D., provides support for leaders on their journey towards inclusive leadership. Priya tells her own story as a dual immigrant and woman of color who has devoted her life to helping individuals become better inclusive leaders. She shares her knowledge and experience with helping leaders as they travel this road. Note: Attendees will be entered in a raffle to win a copy of her new book.

Speaker: Priya Nalkur, Ed.D is the president of the RoundTable Institute, a research and coaching firm dedicated to developing inclusive leaders, communities, and workplaces.

Collaborations don’t always lead to mergers! Learn about different types of successful collaborations and hear from the agencies that have found how working with other agencies has benefited them. Why, how it has worked for them, stumbling blocks to be aware of, and the positive difference it has made for their agencies. Free with registration.

Leadership Development Training Program

Leadership development programs are offered through the Nonprofit Leadership Institute of Greater Cincinnati (NLIGC) which is a partnership of OneSource and Talbert House. Learn more at NLIGC.

EXCEL is a nine-month leadership development and skills training program for nonprofit executive directors and high-level managers, and runs annually from September to May. Learn more or apply through NLIGC.

ADVANCE focuses on strengthening and developing management and leadership skills for middle managers, and consists of 6 sessions over a 3-month period. ADVANCE is offered 3 times per year. Learn more or apply through NLIGC.

LEARN is a 3-month program designed to address the need for all employees to be skilled in self-awareness and in the interpersonal aspects of leadership. Learn more or apply through NLIGC.
